Merle is a dark marking that creates darker patches on the base coat in random fur-like patterns. Merle can appear on any part of the body, as long as the base coat is visible. Up to 3 different colours of merle can show.

At minimum, a merle patch must be visible somewhere.

Double Merle is when two merles are bred together, this can create a dominant merle pup, this carries a chance of blindness, deafness or even death in any Double Merles born.

Double Merle represents itself as if it were piebald, with most of the coat blank white with only a few sections of base coat and Merle patches (along with any other markings which your Warhound has underneath).
